A L’O – 1905 – Paris: the oldest French workwear store in Paris

In 1935, when Mr. Danton established the brand’s headquarters in Paris, it marked the beginning of its Parisian reputation. Having an office in the capital allowed DANTON to access major institutional markets, including the City of Paris, the SNCF and the RATP, firmly anchoring the brand in the history of French workwear.

Alongside this activity, DANTON garments were distributed — as they still are today — through a network of independent stores specializing in high-quality workwear. From the end of 1940s onward, the brand was notably sold by the A L’Ouvrier store, located along the elevated metro on Boulevard de la Villette, one of the earliest points of distribution for workwear in Paris.

As the direct heir to this history, A L’O – 1905 is today recognized as the oldest French workwear store in Paris. Located at 92 rue de Turenne, in the historic Le Marais district, the store has upheld the tradition of authentic workwear for more than a century, curating emblematic French brands.

Situated in one of Paris’s most vibrant and historic neighborhoods, A L’O – 1905 – Paris offers a year-round selection of the DANTON collection, alongside other carefully chosen heritage brands.
